Belt sanders are suitable for large-area rapid material removal; disc sanders are suitable for rough grinding and edge processing; random orbit sanders combine rotation and vibration movements to reduce grinding marks and are suitable for delicate polishing; rotary sanders are small in size and suitable for detail grinding.
The grit depends on your project:
1) Coarse (40-80 grit): For heavy material removal.
2) Medium (80-120 grit): For general-purpose sanding.
3) Fine (150-220 grit): For smooth finishes.
High speed is suitable for fine grinding and fast processing, low speed is suitable for coarse grinding and controlling the grinding depth. Improper speed may cause surface burning, rapid wear of sandpaper or uneven grinding.
